At this member meeting, we're looking forward to hearing from a representative of the Portland Rose Festival. Past President Leslie Goodlow will let us know what's new and what to expect at this year's events.
About our Presenter:
Leslie Goodlow joined Portland Housing Bureau in the City of Portland as the Equity and Business Operations Manager in September of 2012. She manages Compliance, Human Resources, Finance & Accounting, Administration and Contracts. The housing bureau currently has a budget of over $300 million with 81 FTE.
She is the Bureau lead on equity goals related to recruitment, hiring, training and contracts. Leslie is also the co-sponsor of the N/NE Neighborhood Housing Strategy an effort by the city of Portland to provide opportunities for displaced residents to move back into NE Portland.
Leslie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Grambling State University and a Master’s in Social Work from Portland State University. Leslie is also a Licensed Masters Social worker.
Leslie is a member of many community organizations:
1. Portland Rose Festival Foundation, where she has been a board member since 1999 and served as President of the organization in 2007 for the Centennial Celebration.
2. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, Zeta Sigma Omega Chapter in 2007, she served as chapter treasurer and currently is the Chapter President.
3. She’s a member of the Historic Albina Advisory board related to the I-5 Rose Quarter Project.
4. She serves as a commissioner for the Mt. Hood Cable Regulatory Commission
5. She has been a member of the National Forum for Black Public Administrators, has served as the Conference Planning Chair for 5 years.
