Daniel “DJ” Heffernan is a retired land use and public facilities planner. His background includes work for public and private sector clients. DJ has prepared capital improvement plans, SDC methodologies, and service rates analysis for transportation and utility systems. He also has extensive experience with land use planning in Oregon and Washington, including analyses for urban growth boundaries and comprehensive land use plans.
DJ served as Treasurer for the Oregon Chapter of the American Planning Association, and was awarded the Chapter’s Professional Achievement in Planning on two occasions. He has worked with a variety of non-profits focusing on matters a ranging from homelessness to rugby. He holds degree in Geography from the University of Wisconsin, and an MBA from Willamette University. Born and raised in Chicago, DJ has resided in Oregon since 1976 because there is no trout fishing in Illinois.
